Richard J. Strunz, 79, of Janesville passed away at his home on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Richard was born in Janesville on March 2, 1935, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Barfknecht) Strunz. He graduated from Janesville High School and served in the U. S. Army from August 20, 1957 to May 19, 1959. He married Donna Richter on June 25, 1955. Richard was employed by the City of Janesville at the wastewater treatment facility until he retired. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening as well as canning vegetables with his wife, Donna. Surviving Richard are his three children, Lesa (Paul) Crawford and Joe ( Julie) Strunz both of Janesville, Lori (Tom) Watrous of Auburn, WA, eight grandchildren, Brian (Annie) Crawford, Heather Crawford, Emily (Steve) Deal, Monica (Evan) Albeck, Kelly, Kyle, Joshua and Jacob Watrous, two sisters-in-law, Joyce Strunz and Carol Strunz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna on April 17, 1997. His parents and his two brothers, Glenn “Scoop” Strunz and Kenneth Strunz also predeceased him. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church, 302 N. Parker Drive, Janesville with Pastor Bond Haldeman officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. The Strunz family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home
